David N Smith

David had a heart for God, his family, the Razorbacks, and the Cowboys. He started on his own at 16 by working at a service station at night, in order to pay his rent while attending Northside High School. He was an orderly at St. Edward Hospital. David met his wife Vicki while he was working as a nurse, she was his patient. David founded Smith Medical, Inc. in 1993 and successfully ran the business until his retirement in 2015. While David never knew a stranger, if you were his family or friend, you knew you were a part of a great circle of love. He was a great father, loving husband, and a wonderful “papa” to his grandchildren.

His presence will be immeasurably missed by his wife of 43 years Vicki Smith; his children Dean (Alyssa) Smith and Chad Smith; his grandchildren Elisa Smith, Willa and Evan Murfield, as well as several family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Nolan and Estee Smith, siblings Billy, Donna Jo, and Carol.

Memorial Contributions can be made to Goddard United Methodist Church in memory of David Smith.

David served as an usher for over twenty years. He led Goddard’s Baseball team to several championships in the 1980’s.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 1 PM – 2 PM, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with a Memorial Service to follow at 2 PM.

The family requests that you please wear a mask at the visitation and the service.
