

David J. Stoufer Sr. passed away Tuesday October 21, 2014. He was born to Frank Martin & Rose Pearl Stoufer June 12, 1922 in Fort Smith, AR. He was the 7th child of nine. All have deceased. He was preceded in death by son Guillermo and daughter Lisa. He worked for Bruce-Rogers Co. as Master Electrician, electrical sales. He owned Stoufer's Pet Barn in Phoenix Village Mall, Fayetteville Mall, & Joplin Mall. He did Goodwill tours to promote Old Fort Days Rodeo, member of East Side Baptist Church, Sebastian Masonic Lodge #706, 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner and Navy Veteran of World War II. In 1981 adopted three special children, and volunteered for two years helping people, which began Non-Ambulatory Transportation Inc. He worked in the office daily until last year.
Service will be Friday 2:00 pm at Fort Smith National Cemetery Pavilion with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Survived by his wife Elva E. Stoufer, three daughters Edna Carnahan, Terri Stoufer-Nicholas and Karen Halsell all of Fort Smith, five sons David J. Stoufer Jr. of Fort Smith, Richard M. Stoufer of Eureka Springs, Marc Stoufer Sr. of Fort Smith, Stephen Stoufer of Bella Vista and Michael Stoufer of Fort Smith, nineteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday from 8:00 am-12:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers may donate to Shriner's Hospital Shreveport, LA or Joplin, MO or Arkansas Children's Hospital Little Rock, AR.
