

Dean Hadley Gibson, 48, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 13, 2013. Dean was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, on December 20, 1964. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Dean Gibson, who also died of heart failure at the age of 50.
Dean is survived by his mother, Bonnie Gibson, his daughter, Lillie Gibson, his sister, Tracy Ahlert, brother-in-law, Greg Ahlert, and their son, Rincon Hadley Ahlert, all of Fort Smith. Tracy and Greg will be forever grateful; because of Dean, they were given the greatest gift of all, their son, Rin. Dean was very close to his grandparents. Hadley and Mary Johnson and Kathern Gibson, all of Missouri, also preceded him in death. Dean loved camping, fishing, the out-of-doors, and all animal life. Those who knew and loved him always appreciated his sense of humor. Dean was kind, generous, and willing to help any friend in need. He was employed at Gerber/Nestle for 25 years. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 17, from 5:30-7:30pm. All are welcome at Tracy’s home, 2119 South T Street, Fort Smith, following the visitation.
