

Donald Ray Biggs, 65, of Barling, AR, passed away December 21, 2010. He was retired as owner/operator of Biggs Dump Truck Service and was a man of Christian faith. Donald was born April 1, 1945 in Subiaco, AR to Elmer Lee and Atha Mitchael Biggs. His life reflected the term, “true blue collar worker”, as he worked tirelessly to build a very successful business to provide for his family. After he retired he enjoyed “bartering” at garage sales, as well as spending time with his horses. The love of his life was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years; Lucy of Barling, AR, 2 sons; Stan Biggs and his wife Edie, of Barling, AR, and Travis Biggs and his wife Sarah, of Fort Smith, AR, 2 sisters; Jane Parks of Little Rock, AR and Jeanetta Ray of Lavaca, AR, 3 brothers; Al, Jerry, and Larry Biggs, all of Fort Smith, AR, 3 grandchildren; Karlie, Haley, and Allie Biggs all of Barling AR, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer “Bud” and Irene Biggs, and also preceded by his brother, Steve Biggs.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 24, 2010 at East Side Baptist Church under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Stan, Travis, Al, Larry, and Jerry Biggs, and William “Curley” Daniel.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Dean Scharbor, Dewayne Hanna, Billy Ray Brown, William Slate, and Buddy Baughman.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 23, 2010, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
