Dorothy Elam Angelo, 88, of Barling, AR, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025. She was born on July 1, 1937, in Chickasha, OK to the late Carl Elam and Josephine Morris Elam. Dorothy retired from the Palo Alto Medical Clinic, where she worked as a cashier. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Stevenson.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki O’Brien and her husband Daniel, and her son, Mark Barger and his wife Rhonda, all of Van Buren. She is also survived by a brother, Randy Elam and his wife Maria, of Wharton, TX; four grandchildren, Aaron Barger, Derrick O’Brien, Corey Barger and Tara O’Brien, and three great grandchildren: Kaiden Phillips, Kyler Barger and Rae Anne Barger.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 28th, 2025, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
