Dorothy Nichols, 95, of Fort Smith, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She was born on February 23, 1928 in Fort Smith to the late Clearence and Mary Free. Dorothy was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith. She was a good mother and loved her neighbors. In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Thurrel Nichols and three sons, Terry Wade Nichols, Eugene Nichols and Scott Nichols.
There will be a private, family held celebration of life, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
She is survived by a son, Rick Nichols and his wife Linda, of Ada, OK; a brother, Winter D. Free of Muldrow, OK; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Nichols of Fort Smith and a former daughter-in-law, Gail Altman of Fayetteville, AR, along with eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
