Ducote "Cody" Kip Hunter - beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many - went to be in paradise with our Lord on March 25, 2023. 43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise," Luke 23:43
Cody was born on February 12, 1965, to Jim Fred Hunter and Norma Sue "Susi" Bennett. He graduated from Southside High School in Fort Smith, AR. He went on to study at the Arkansas Valley Technical Institution in Ozark, AR, where he gained a Diploma in Electronic Technology and Automation Maintenance Technology. He worked in this field along with other odd jobs until an early retirement due to physical disabilities.
Cody was a friend to many and a stranger to no one. He would gladly share the coat off his back to anyone in need. Through the years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hanging with friends and family and listening to some good ole country boy music. He loved to travel near and far to explore the sites and visit with relatives. He traveled to Israel, was baptized in the Jordan River and explored the areas where Jesus lived and preached.
Cody was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Fred, Susi and Phil Green Jr., as well as his brother, John Hunter, and his nephew, Luke Greenfield. He is survived by his sister, Michelle Greenfield of Fort Smith, AR, his nephews, Johnathan (Jennifer) Hunter and Jason Hunter of Rogers, AR, his niece, Faith (Jackson) Webb and nephew, John Greenfield, of Fort Smith, AR, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, great niece and great nephews.
In his memory, donations can be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 8712 Horan Drive, Fort Smith, AR 72903, or to the Fort Smith Animal Haven, 4800 South 46th Street, Fort Smith, AR, 72903, in honor of his dearly loved pets, Frosty and Hooman.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home (201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901) on Wednesday, April 5th, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
