

Ethel (Trumble) Fender born May 27,1942 in Canajoharie, New York passed away in her home in Fort Smith, Arkansas on October 18, 2023 at the age of 81 years. Ethel was raised on a dairy farm in upstate New York until she married her first husband, Roland Aird with whom she had 3 children. They traveled all over the USA and even lived in Okinawa, Japan for several years. Ethel and her children moved to Arkansas in 1980 where she worked at PRADCO. There she met her second husband Veral. Ethel spent 27 years as a Walmart Associate until she retired in 2018. She was an avid bowler and went to many tournaments around the region. Ethel was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was known as Grammie to all the grandkids. She is survived by her 2 daughters Sheila Fender (Mark) and Rebecca Aird (Dale Rasmussen) and a stepson Mark Fender (Sheila), 3 sisters Jeanette (Trumble) Van Alstine, Dorothea (Trumble) Sullivan and Alice (Trumble) Domion, 6 Grandchildren Charlie Phelan (Tonya), Brandi McLennan (Shawn), Michael Phelan (Shawna), Tisha Rowley (Jeff), Tasha Traylor (Greg) and Heather London. 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband
Veral Fender, her son Rodney Aird, her parents Horatio and Reba Trumble, brothers William and Charles Trumble, sisters Maxine (Trumble) Ambridge, Jane (Trumble) Ripple, Ruth (Trumble) Muhlebeck and Betty Jean Trumble, and her precious niece Marie (Prime) Baldwin.
A Memorial service will be held on October 27, 2023 @ Edwards Funeral Home 201 North 12th Street Fort Smith Arkansas. Visitation with the Family from 10am - 11am and the service at 11am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Ethel Fender to one of the following; South Minden Fire Department at 1029 Hwy 163 Ft Plain NY 13339, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Arkansas Children's Hospital NWA and the ALS Foundation (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
