Frances A. Garner

Fran Garner, 76, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, passed from this life February 28, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born April 7, 1941, in Indiahoma, Oklahoma to the late George and Eva Stoll Zitterkob. Fran retired after 20 years as a registered nurse from St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center. The last 15 years she worked in Cardiac ICU. Prior to working at St. Edwards, she worked at various nursing homes in the area. Fran was an active member of Goddard United Methodist Church, where she was on the Altar Guild.

Fran is survived by her husband, John; her daughter, Laura Whitaker and husband Joe; her grandson, Wesley Garner and wife Brandi; a granddaughter, Harley Garner; three great grandchildren, Jonathon, Lilyanne and Matilynn Garner; three sisters, Selma Garner, Goldie Delk and Elizabeth Howell; and one brother, Clarence Zitterkob. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Garner; her parents; three sisters, Josephine Cone, Clara Holland and Dorothy McPherson; as well as three brothers, Henry, Reuben and Conard Zitterkob.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Fran’s name, to Goddard United Methodist Church, 1922 Dodson Avenue, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
