

Frederick A. King, 92, died February 25th in Fort Smith. He was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 25, 1924. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith. He was a veteran of World War II, member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked in management at Whirlpool in Evansville and was transferred to Fort Smith in 1966. He retired after 30 years of service in 1984. He was a Notre Dame and Razorback fan and loved to fish.
Rosary will be at Edwards Funeral Home at 7pm on Monday, February 27th. Funeral will be at Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith on Tuesday, Feb 28th at 10am. Burial will be later in the week at St. Joseph's cemetery in Evansville, IN.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, John Fred King and Louise Klein King; his wife of 49.5 years, Arleta Herrenbruck King; one son, Gary David King; his brothers, Raymond King and William King of Evansville; and sisters, Catherine King of Evansville and Dorothy Sanders of Arnold, Missouri. He is survived by his son, Kenneth W. King (Diane) of Fort Smith; one sister, Bettye King of Evansville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Andrea Alvarado (Alberto) of Fort Smith, Bryan King (Jennifer) of Quinton, Oklahoma, Brandon King (Emily) of Fort Smith, Dr. Kerry King of San Diego, California, and Dr. Kristen Eckelhoff (Todd) of Fort Smith; and ten great grandchildren.
Pall bearers are Ronnie Polk, Alberto Alvarado, Brandon King, Todd Eckelhoff, Bryan King and Garrett King.
