Reverend Henry Edwin Moore

Reverend Henry Edwin Moore age 78 passed to his eternal rest on Friday, April 16, 2010 in Fort Smith, AR. He was born January 19, 1932 in Paris, Texas. Henry graduated from Paris High School, Paris Junior College and the University of Texas in Austin with honors.

He graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1956 with a Bachelor of Divinity. He later went to Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey and spent a year studying in Edinburgh, Scotland. In his fifty years in the ministry he served churches in Holdenville, OK; Abilene and Brady, TX; Mountainburg and Alma, AR; Westwego, Centerville, Morgan City, Franklin and Bayou Blue, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Arthur and Marie Jenkins Moore.

He is survived by his wife Betty Jo ; two sisters, Emily Somerville of Paris, TX and Estelle Moore Aldridge of Boise, Idaho, two children by marriage, Page Phillips and her husband Jeff and their three children, Jacob, Molly Grace, and Harper Lin of Russellville, AR and Jay Burris and his wife Nancy their three children Chad, Alex, Evan of Van Buren, AR; five nieces , Sheri Rowell, Anna Marie Smith, Ida Lou Schultze, Kathleen Somerville and Jeanie Scott; several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday April 19, 2010 at First Presbyterian of Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Bart Sills, Art Richman, Doyle Osborn, Mark Moll, Tom Wilson and Bill Coleman.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, Texas under the direction of Fry & Gibbs funeral Home.

The family will visit with friends 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home.
