Jack Jewell Boone

He grew up in Toledo and graduated from Waite High School in 1945, joining the Navy after graduating. He married Robbie Masterson on February 14, 1953. He was an only child but gained six brothers-in-law and 5 sisters-in-law when they married. They were married for over 71 years.

Jack and Robbie went on to have three children Jeff, Penny & Tammy, who in turn gave them four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He worked on the C&O railroad before joining the Toledo Fire Department in 1955, where he was subsequently promoted to Lieutenant and then Captain before his retirement in 1979 when they moved to Spiro, Oklahoma to be near Robbie’s family.

Jack was very handy. He and Robbie usually had at least one home improvement project going on. They learned a lot on their own – no Google back then.

Jack is survived by his wife Robbie, of the home. Two daughters, Penny Bulgarella (John) of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and Tammy Shaw of Tampa, Florida. Two grandsons, Joshua Shaw (Angie) and Tony Bulgarella (Brittany). Two granddaughters Josie Stinchcomb (Ryan) and Christina Bulgarella. Two great grandsons Tyler & Trey Merreighn and three great granddaughters Riley Czarnikow (Daylen) and Nina and Audrey Bulgarella and two great-great grandchildren, Elijah and Ella Czarnikow.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Freda Boone and son, Jeffrey Boone.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 12:00pm at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with visitation an hour prior. Burial to follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
