

Jack Vaughn, 87 of Fort Smith, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Fort Smith. He was born December 14, 1929 in Fort Smith to the late Jasper and Ruby Vaughn. He was a Protestant and a Navy Veteran. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1965 with a degree in Engineering and worked briefly at Western Gear (Engineering department) in California. He moved back to Tulsa and worked as a Design Engineer for Tulsa Winch. He then moved to Paris, AR where he accepted the position as Chief Engineer at Cloyes Gear Company. He retired from Cloyes as Vice President and General Manager. He was active in several civic organizations; a member of the Paris Rotary Club and served as President. He was also a Past President of the Paris Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed sports; hunting, fishing, and golf. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his own plane.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Oak Cemetery Pavilion. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
Jack is survived by three brothers; Charles Vaughn and his wife Wanda of Miamisburg, OH, Carl Vaughn and his wife Libby of Hemet, CA, and Dee Vaughn and his wife Marcy of Sand Point, ID as well as several nieces and nephews.
