Jackie Kleier Steinmetz, 90 of Sallisaw, OK, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was born on February 26, 1934 in Hooker, OK. Jackie was retired from the Los Angeles Fire Department, where he served as a foreman, and he was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nemia Steinmetz, of the home; two daughters, Elva Steinmetz and Lora Rexroat, both of Sallisaw, and two grandchildren, Chelsie Shirley and Lacey Rexroat.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Edwards Funeral Home, 201 North 12th Street, Fort Smith.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
