Jacquilyn R. Howell Mathews Barnett

Jacquilyn (Jackie) R. Howell Mathews Barnett departed this life August 8, 2016. She was born March 25, 1937, to Susanne Springer and Arthur E. Howell, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sue and step-father Dillard F. Walden; brother, Keith Walden; daughter-in-law, Alison Mathews and granddaughter, Jessica Mathews.

Jackie retired from Warmack and Co., LLC in 1999. She retired, again, from the Fort Smith Home Builders Association. She was a past member of Alpha Pi Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a past member of both the Little Rock and Fort Smith Chapters of the National Association of Women in Construction and wore several hats as a staff member and director of Western Arkansas Ballet.

She is survived by four sons, Michael Mathews of Charlotte, North Carolina, Martin Mathews and wife Barbara Nix Mathews of Florida, Larry A. Mathews of Fort Smith and David Mathews and wife Myrna of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She leave two granddaughters, Micha Lindsey Proietto and husband Matthew and Hollyanna Lauren Mathews; one grandson, Christopher Matlock of Pennsylvania; two great granddaughters, Elliana Proietto and Fiona Proietto; one great grandson, Matthew Proietto, as well as two sisters, MaryAnn Sundberg and husband Paul of Colorado and Nancy S. LeBrun and husband Robert of Fort Smith.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 to 4:00pm Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Edwards Funeral Home. The body will be cremated with interment at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
