Jessie Bruce Burkett

Jessie B. Burkett, 80, of Van Buren, died May 16, 2011 in Fort Smith. He was a Heating and Air Specialist and retired from Rockwood Terrance Apartments. He was born August 4, 1930 in Kibler, Arkansas to Dillard S. and Mattie White Burkett. He attended Sunnyside Church.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of the Home; two daughters, Lisa and husband Jacky Hopson of Kibler, AR and Sharon and husband Darrell Russell of Van Buren; two sons, Billy and wife Rhonda Burkett of Alma and Roger and wife Maurine Burkett of Dardanelle, AR; one brother, Rubin Burkett of Sacramento, CA; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Gail Burkett; and four sons, Gary, Darrell, Rocky, and Robert Burkett.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gill Cemetery in Van Buren all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Roger Burkett, Gary Ray Burkett, Rodney Burkett, Joe Cedillo, David Morris, and Jacky Hopson.
