John Rodriguez Cardenas

John Rodriguez Cardenas, 68, of Fort Smith, died February 6, 2011 in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of St. Edward Mercy Medical Center. He was born September 15, 1942 in New Braunfels, Texas to Juan Sr. and Antonia Rodriguez Cardenas. He was a member of the Grand Knight, Knights of Columbus in San Antonio, TX and was Past President of LULAC Council II. He was a musician and had serviced in churches as Choir Director.

He is survived by his wife Leona Kennedy-Cardenas of Fort Smith; two daughters, Rose Mary Cardenas and Sylvia M. Perez and her husband Louie all of San Antonio, TX; two sons, Chad Kennedy and wife Lanie of Fort Smith and Bill Rodriguez and wife Mary Helen all of Fort Smith; one brother, Tony Cardenas and wife Angela of Manassas, VA; bother-in-law, J.R. Dallas & wife Darren of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Jenny, Eduardo, and Alexandria Rodriguez and Jordan Kennedy; niece, Laura Sapp, and nephews, John and Jason Cardenas.

Rosary will be said on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 6:00 PM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and Mass will be said on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Catholic Church with burial to follow in Our Lady Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery in New Braunfels, TX all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chad Kennedy, J.R. Dallas, Louie Perez, Bill Rodriguez, John, Tony, and Jason Cardenas.
