Juanita Stanfill

Juanita Stanfill, 89, of Fort Smith, passed from this life December 23, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born June 4, 1927 in Booneville, Arkansas to the late A.C., Sr. and Audrey Ray Reynolds Yocum. She was retired from Whirlpool Corporation and a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Sue Harris and husband Mel of Fort Smith; two step daughters, Sherry Peerson of Shell Beach, California and Judy Cobb of San Louis Obispo, California; one grandson, Brent Harris and wife Isabelle; two great granddaughters, Bailee and Brooke Harris; four step grandchildren; a very close nephew, Bill Yocum, Jr., as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Leon Elsworth and Jimmy Stanfill; a grandson, Tracy Harris; as well as her brothers, A.C. Yocum, Jr. and Bill Yocum.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Rye Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookfield Assisted Living and Mercy Hospice for all the care they provided for Juanita.
