

Kathryn H. Howard, 98 of Fort Smith, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016. She was born on August 21, 1917 in Oktaha, Oklahoma to the late William and Helen Stackable. She was retired from the Social Security Administration and a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church. She worked for the Department of the Army, was Past President of the League of Women Voters and active in NARF. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, L. King Howard; a son, Bill Howard; a sister, Ruth McCalmont and a brother, Jim Stackable.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, John Howard and his wife Alice, of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Kim Hawk of Greenwood, Indiana, Kai Howard of Reno, Nevada, Carrie Howard of Fort Smith, David Howard of Lavaca and Dea Theodore of Sandy, Utah. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild and many loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Andy Stackable, Ryan Stackable, David Stackable, Will Stackable, Dr. Ken Leach and Dr. Brian Leach.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
