

Levon “Don” Conley Harvey, 89, of Fort Smith, died in his sleep at Crawford County Health and Rehabilitation in Van Buren. He was born February 12, 1928 in Judsonia, AR to the late Lawrence and Myrtle Harvey. He was retired from Clark Equipment. He was a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church, life member of the Disabled American Veterans of America where he was very active and involved in the D.A.V. He served as the adjutant treasurer for several years and when his wife was the State Commander of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans, he was always by her side. He did license plates fundraisers to build the D.A.V. building and helped with bingo fundraisers. He was a member of the American Legion, Eastern Star 237 and Belle Point Masonic Lodge #20. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was very involved with building and helping Deer Acres Zoo.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Meltha; and several brothers and sisters. He was proud of his daughter and his family.
Visitation will be Thursday morning 10:00 AM-11:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM, all at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at U. S. National Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his daughter, Brucille Harvey Gann and husband Alvin of Hackett; two grandchildren, Alan Gann and wife Amy and Amy Gann Jones and husband Tim; two great grandsons, Austin and Evan Carter; one great granddaughter, Annaliese Gann; and two sisters, Evon Coleman of Conway and Jean Sonk of Little Rock.
