Lonnie "Bruce" Hicks

He began driving trucks at an early age. He graduated from Northside High School in 1959. While attending high school, he owned and operated a livestock transportation company. He served in the National Guard and later became a rancher and business owner of D&H Cattle Company and FWCC, Inc. His entire life was centered around work.

Funeral service will be 10 AM Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Muldrow, OK with burial to follow at Blackjack Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Kay Riggs Hicks.

He is survived by his son, Kelly Woodrow Hicks and wife Mitzie of Fort Smith; daughter, Rachel Janelle Sims of Fort Smith and son, Lonnie Bruce Hicks,Jr. and wife Mandi of Muldrow; grandchildren, Hampton Hicks, Ross Hicks, Bryant Sims and Kalin Hicks and his special friend, Ruth Berry.

Pallbearers will be Bud Durden, Bryant Sims, Ross Hicks, Todd Riggs, Ronnie Vest and Joe Shamblin. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Hiller, Don Dickey, Edmond Stites, Eddie Hahn, Danny Goldsboro, Allen Hale, Brent Roberson and David Reeder

The family would like to thank the Mercy doctors, staff and all his caregivers for their dedication and efforts.

The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 PM -7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 6101 Highway 271 South, Fort Smith, AR 72908.
