Loyd Gene McBride, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2025, at the age of 81. Loyd was born on September 28, 1943, to the late Dillon M. McBride and Sallie Barker McBride. He was a retired glass glazier for PPG and a man of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Reverend Ronnie McBride.
Loyd is survived by his wife, Wanda McBride; his two sons, Stan McBride, DVM (Vicky) of Park Hill, OK, and Randy L. McBride (Shannon) of Fort Smith, AR. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Dillon McBride, Colton McBride (Megan), Kennedy Ryan, and Cade Ryan.
Loyd truly cherished his Church, family, and friends. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, watching sports, and working on his farm.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home, located at 201 N. 12th Street, Fort Smith.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10am at the First Baptist Church of Arkoma, 200 Sicard Street, Arkoma, OK. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, OK.
Pallbearers will be Randy Harrison, Steve Reynolds, Richard Schmuck, Jackie Smith, Alton Yates, and Roscoe Yates.
