I worked as a weekend supervisor at MH&R for 4 years. I retired in March 2020. I really enjoyed my visits with Mr. Hart. It was always a pleasure to visit with him. I know the staff and the residents will miss him. May the Lord give the family and friends of Mr. Hart comfort and peace which only comes from Him as they grieve
Mr. Hart's passing.

In Memory of Grandpa Lyman

I have a story I wanna share when I was a kid. I remember me being about 5-6 and at school. I had wet my pants (I know far from perfect) and the school nurse couldn’t get ahold of mom and dad so they called my grandparents! Grandpa came to pick me up. I had been crying and my pants were soaked so to keep from getting his truck seat wet he spread a newspaper from his dashboard. He said get in and we went back to his house. Grandma wasn’t home and he had no clue what clothes to have me change into. He found grandmas robe. It was tight on me cause I’ve always been a lil chunky. He sat me at the bar in the kitchen and asked if I wanted hot cocoa. After crying at school from embarrassment of peeing my pants this made me cheer up a lil. This memory of grandpa is one of the first I remember of him.

My grandpa may have not been the wisest man but he gave me all the words of wisdom I need! Sunday dinners may have been full of hands of black jack, Fried Chicken and Gin Rummey, but we knew we were a family. Our bond was built on faith and lots of fun... that sometimes may have resulted in getting into a lil trouble. None of us are perfect and grandpa wasn’t either. He had a stubborn heart that had a love for Grandma Rita since he was 17. There love created our unusual, far from perfect family that all grieve for them today.

I have so many memories of grandpa and our family. I know we all do. Take this moment to remember how much Grandpa Lyman and Grandma Rita both loved each other and their family. Know that grandpa is now with grandma, happy, and not just with her memory. I am here today because of there love and there is no greater gift grandpa and grandma could have given me. The past is yesterday and today we grieve the loss of Grandpa Lyman. I will miss you grandpa and will carry you in my heart forever.

My favorites memories of grandpa Lyman include when he would intricately dress up like Santa on Christmas Eve & try to convince all of the Grandchildren that he was really Santa, {& not our grandpa dressed up as Santa}.
