

Margaret ‘Marge’ Foldvary, 76, of Fort Smith, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Fort Smith. She was born August 7, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to Albert and Irene Carosy. She married her husband, Jim on October 18, 1958 and started raising a family. When her husband’s company relocated to Arkansas, they moved to Fort Smith in July 1970. She was a homemaker and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 43 years. Marge was active in several civic and community activities throughout the years. She served as Cub Scout Commissioner, where she enjoyed working with the youth. She was also Past President of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary for several years. She always looked forward to attending the Knights of Columbus annual state convention to see her many friends throughout the state and to act as hostess for the Knights of Columbus hospitality room. Marge also enjoyed arts and crafts and making floral arrangements. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her recipes with everyone. She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family, especially during the holidays. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jim; a daughter, Cathy Preston and her husband Drew of Mountainburg; two sons, Mike Foldvary and his wife Janet of Fort Smith and Robbie Foldvary and his wife Stephanie of Fort Smith; her mother, Irene Carosy of Chester, NY; two sisters, Alberta Egan of South Port, NC and Maryann Pleva of Chester, NY, as well as three grandchildren, Cody, Shea and Jessica Foldvary. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Carosy. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00am, Friday, August 23 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7:00pm, Thursday, August 22 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The family will visit with friends from 6:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, August 21 at Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tom Stoddard, Art Sellers, Clyde Chaney, Dickie Spahn, Mike Heathcott and Art Rideout. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
