Marianna McKee

Marianna McKee of Fort Smith passed away February 23, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis McKee and sister Ophelia Shepherd. She is survived by her son Bill McKee of Benton, AR, daughter Ann Thames of Union, KY, grandchildren Courtney Sundquist of San Antonio, TX, Graham Thames of St. Louis, MO Ryan McKee of Tulsa, OK and Lauren Barr of Boston, MA, four great grandchildren Matthew, Seriah, and Garrett Sundquist of San Antonio, TX and Audrey Punches of Tulsa, OK, a special niece Christine Kracmer of Grand Prairie, TX and a wonderful second family of neighbors and friends.

She was born May 26, 1914 in Wolfe City, TX to Anna and Rufus Johnston. A retired teacher from Ft. Smith Public schools, member of Goddard United Methodist Church, an avid reader, bird enthusiast and Arkansas Razorback fan.

Visitation will be Sunday February 26th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at Goddard United Methodist Church Monday February 27th at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at the National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to Goddard United Methodist Church 1922 Dodson Avenue Ft. Smith, AR 72901.

Pallbearers will be Graham Thames, Ryan McKee, Jim Dunn, Mike Thames, Michael Thames, and Robert Cloninger. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Kelly, Bob Willett, Harry Miller, Brett Kelchen, Tommy Gammage, Marvin Richardson, Calvin Evans, Jeff Creighton, Lt. Col. Victor Sundquist, & Dr. John Barr.
