

Born on June 8, 1941, in Little Rock, AR, she was the daughter of Pearl Covington Hill and Emmett Hill.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Emmett Hill, and her brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Mary Lou Hill.
She graduated with a BS degree from Lambuth College in Jackson, TN, and then completed two years of medical school at the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, where she met and fell in love with her husband. After marrying, she dedicated her life to raising her five children with unconditional love and care. Her home was a haven of warmth, filled with music, laughter, and the comforting presence of her beloved pets. An accomplished pianist, Martha had a deep love for music, which she shared with her family and friends. Her passion for the piano was a gift that brought joy to many and left a lasting impression on all who heard her play.
She loved traveling extensively with her husband and family, exploring new places with an enthusiasm that was both inspiring and infectious. Whether it was a road trip across the country to a favorite spot or an international journey, she embraced each new experience with open arms. Her love for travel was something she eagerly passed on to her children and grandchildren, creating a legacy of curiosity and exploration that will live on through them.
Cherishing her memory are her husband, Charles Paris Jr. MD; her son Chip Paris and wife Elizabeth, and their daughter Caitlin; her daughter Beth Paris; her son Steve Paris and wife Anna, along with their daughters Lawren and Leah; her daughter Amy Clemetson and husband Chris; and her daughter Mandy Paris.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 4th, at 10:00 a.m. at the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, located at 200 N 15th St, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Following the service, the family will welcome friends in the Narthex. Arrangements are in the care of Edwards Funeral Home.
