

Martha Sue (Marty) Tate, 81, of Muldrow, OK passed away on February 23, 2015 in Muldrow. She was born October 15, 1933 in Little Rock, AR to Ward and Eva Goines Stacey. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith, she worked with the Brownies, and taught Vacation Bible School. Marty work with the Community Action Head Start Program in Sequoyah County, she owned the Cracker Jack Children’s Clothing Store. She and her late husband Jack started the first Laundromat in Roland. Marty’s passions included reading and crocheting, but her latest interests included the iPhone and Facebook. Her most important job in life was to be a mother and mam ma. She is survived by two daughters, Jackie and husband Darrell Shamblin of Muldrow and Cindy and husband Larry Osborn of Roland; five grandsons, Choise and wife Monica Shamblin, Justin and wife Mary Duty, Clay Hyde, Cody and wife Brooke Hyde, and Cole Hyde; five granddaughters, Ruby and husband Shane Brunk, Kim and husband Jimmy House, Carrie and husband Chad Simpson, Amber Hyde and Christy Sanders; fifteen great grandchildren, Kelsie, Taten, Drake, Colton, and Carson Hyde, Amanda Shamblin, Jennifer and husband Jesus Sandoval, Tracey Tippetts, Jenna Duty, Hanna Carney, Lacey, Jody, and Chloe House, Rachel and Drew Simpson, Jonathon Plank, and Clayton Sanders; and one great great granddaughter, Harper Hyde and her dog Brutie. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Lewis Tate and one grandson, Jody Shamblin. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Upper Camp Creek Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy House, Choise Chamblin, Justin Duty, Cody Hyde, Chad Simpson, and Cole Hyde. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM.
