

Mary Ann was the widow of John W. Jacobs Jr. and is survived by her four children, Kathy Jacobs of Cabot, Ben Jacobs of Greenwood, Becky (Jacobs) Holloway and husband Bill of Soldotna, Alaska and Ellen Jacobs of Fort Smith; one brother, David McDonald; four grandchildren, Sarah, Evan and Rachel Jacobs and Magen Holloway; her brother in law, Henry Jacobs, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was a pre-med student and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Arkansas. She was an active and lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a Girl Scout leader, amateur photographer, horsewoman, poll worker and a member of the Greenwood Historical Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed a variety of fiber and needle arts. John and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., including Alaska, especially with the Girl Scout Gang.
Her children deeply appreciate the caregivers in the memory care unit of Brookdale in Fort Smith and Mercy Hospital Inpatient Hospice Service.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home with interment to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
