

Mary Agnes Kennedy, 98 of Fort Smith passed away Monday, May 23, 2011. She was born December 26, 1912 in Morrison Bluff to the late John Ashour and Catherine Bauer Ashour. She was a member of St. Benedict’s mother’s society and lived at Mercy Crest for the last six years. She was a homemaker as well as the co-owner and operator of Steed’s Tavern. She lived in Subiaco until moving to Ft. Smith in 2004. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Kennedy, two sons Bill and Anthony Kennedy, four sisters Dorothy Jackson, Gertrude Schneider, Mary Ann Flusche, and Sister Kathleen Ashour, a brother Martin Ashour and a son-in-law Tim Krone.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Friday May 27, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Subiaco with burial to follow at St. Benedict’s Cemetery in Subiaco. There will be a viewing beginning at 9:00 AM Friday at the church until service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by three daughters; Anna Jane Krone of Port Aransas, TX, Mary Catherine Burns and her husband Deacon John Burns of Fort Smith, and Katy Wolf and her husband Greg of Hope, AR; three sons; Nick Kennedy and his wife Roseann of Russellville, Chris Kennedy and his wife LaVonna of Subiaco, and Pat Kennedy and his wife Alice of South Africa; two sisters Sister Rose Ashour of Fort Smith and Barbara Chrisman of Lewisville, TX; one brother Paul Ashour of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
