Mary Elizabeth Rye

Mary Elizabeth Rye, 78, of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011. She was born April 30, 1932 in Fort Smith to the late David G. and Mary Eacret Plummer. She was a retired waitress from

Gracies. She was a member of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church and past member of VFW Post 8845, American Legion Post 31 and A.A.R.P. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Rye.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

She is survived by four daughters Karen Daggs of Poteau, OK, Helen Jane Hawthorne of Fort Smith, Jackie Floyd of Newport, AR and Charline Rye of Muldrow, OK, one son Charlie Rye, Jr. of Malvern, AR, one brother Jimmy Dale Plummer of Jenny Lind, AR, ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scott Daggs, Christopher Daggs, Charles Eatmon, Adam Eatmon, Craig Cecil, Kevin Cecil, Billy Pendleton, LeeAnn Araujo, Sarah Rye and Dakota Rye.

The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
