Mildred Mae Terry

Mildred Mae Terry, of Pocola for the last 76 years, passed from this life January 21, 2022 at 103 years young. She was born May 14, 1918 in Mountainburg, Arkansas to Josh Standridge and Flossie Dyer Standridge. Mae married Claude H. Terry on December 15, 1939, and they shared almost 27 years together before his passing in 1966. She owned and operated the Almost New Shop for over 35 years and was a member at First Baptist Church in Pocola. She lived life to the fullest and loved to travel when she could. Mae’s loves could be summed up in two words, family and faith.

Mae is survived by her two children, Ruth Claudell Goldblatt of Pocola and Larry L. Terry and wife Robbie Moore Terry of Castorville, Texas; two grandchildren, David Terry of Takoma Park, Maryland and Gina Stein of San Antonio, Texas; three great grandchildren, Amy, and Kelly, and Ben Stein of San Antonio, Texas; and one sister Frankie Lee Estep of Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, June Clopton.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
