Oleta May Carter

Oleta May Carter, 77, of Spiro, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 in Fayetteville, AR. She was born July 21, 1940 in Witcherville, AR to Sterling Price and Edith Irene Vickers Lishbrook. Oleta was retired from the Veterans Administration as the Assistant Chief of Laundry, and she attended the First Assembly of God Church in Barling, AR.

She is survived by two daughters, Oleta Irene and husband Tom Allen of Grand Junction, CO and Millie and husband Joe Tarnawski of Easton, KS; three sisters, Laler Lishbrook of Fort Smith, Anna Lee McNoel of Fort Smith, and Alma Rowe of Fort Smith; one brother, John Lishbrook of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Melissa King, Zachery Allen, Chelsea Tomasi, Blair Tarnawski, and Heather Tarnawski; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Carter; and two sons, Gary Jordan and Bobby Jordan.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the First Assembly of God Church of Barling, AR with burial to follow in Gilliam Cemetery in South Sebastian County, all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Tarnawski, Ricky Schalski, Ricky Schalski, Jr. and Kevin Pacheco.

The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM.
