Patsy Lou Dodson, 74 of Arkoma died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her home surrounded by those she loved. Patsy was born September 1, 1940 in Summerfield, OK to Nathan and Hazel Crockett. Patsy reframed every negative situation in her life to find the positives. Her attitude gave others comfort in times of desperation. She used her endless creativity to find entertainment from even the most limited of resources. Love radiated from her being and she was a motherly figure to every child she met, from her children and grandchildren to the kids on her street. Every need that her family could have, she met in her lifetime. Her passing was the end of a 15 year long battle with cancer, in which she never complained. While her absence is sad for us, we can be assured she is breathing well in heaven! Greeting her in heaven are her parents, Nathan and Hazel as well as her brother Howard Ray Crockett.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2014 at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith, with burial to follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
