Paul Daniel Mahoney

Paul Daniel Mahoney, 90, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born July 4, 1925 in Hannibal, Missouri to the late Paul James and Grace Martz Mahoney. Mr. Mahoney was a member of the Goddard United Methodist Church of Fort Smith, Arkansas, a World War II Army/Air Corp Veteran who served in India, and was a retired Public Accountant. He was active in the Mt. Magazine Girl Scout Council along with wife, Virginia for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Rae Ackley Mahoney.

Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Thursday at the Pavilion at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with burial to follow with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Survivors include: two daughters, Paula Rae Harris and husband James of Nashville, Arkansas and Elizabeth Annette Kelso of Gardiner, Maine; one son, Timothy David Mahoney and wife Pam of McClure, Illinois; special friend & care giver, Zoe Ann Batten of Fort Smith, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Jason Fontaine of Cabot, Arkansas, Kevin Fontaine and wife Christina of Van Buren, Arkansas, David Mahoney and wife Laura of Jackson, Missouri, Adam Kelso of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Timothy Mahoney of McClure, Illinois, Cory Knapp and wife Rachel of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Lance Mouser of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Vanna Mouser Clark and husband Justin of Grand Tower, Illinois; and six great grandchildren, Cameron Fontaine of Alma, Arkansas, Sarah Fontaine of Alma, Arkansas, Hayden Fontaine of Van Buren, Arkansas, Alaina Fontaine of Van Buren, Arkansas, James Gary Kelso of Oakfield, Maine and Arron Mahoney of Jackson, Missouri.

The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
