Peggy Fant Basnett, 97, of Fort Smith, AR passed away July 7, 2023 at Ashton Place, Barling, AR. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Fant, husband Monroe Basnett, son Randy Basnett and granddaughter Amanda Basnett Kinsey and brothers Brooksher Fant and Edison Fant. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Basnett Thurman and son Bill Basnett (Barbara), all of Fort Smith, AR. Her grandchildren Erin Basnett Kennedy (Paul), Katie Basnett Siemens (Jacob), Chad Thurman (Brandon), all of Fayetteville, AR and Courtney Thurman Hardcastle (Trevor) of Fort Smith, AR and several great and great great grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR with burial at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. A private family gathering will be at a later date.
