Raymond Shipman

Raymond C. Shipman, 98, of Fort Smith, AR passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012, in Mercy Hospital Fort Smith. He was retired Buyer from C.C. Davis. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and American Legion Post #31. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.

Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 1, 2012, at Fort Smith National Cemetery Pavilion with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Beatrice I. Shipman of Fort Smith, two sons Paul D. Shipman of Van Buren and Kenneth D. Shipman of Fort Smith, one brother Jessie D. Shipman of Fort Smith, five grandchildren Darla M. Shipman of Fayetteville, Charity L. Sabin of Dyer, Justin C. Shipman of Fort Smith, Russell A. Shipman of Fort Smith and Samantha S. Montgomery of Fort Smith, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Viewing will be Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sunday, September 30, 2012, from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.

The family will visit with friends Sunday afternoon, September 30, 2012, from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
