

Reva Alyene Whitlock, 85, of Siloam Springs joined her Savior in heaven on March 29, 2011 at the Methodist Nursing Home in Fort Smith , AR. She was born in Siloam Springs at her family home October 5, 1925 , the only child of the late Elmer and Emma “Pete” Porter of Siloam Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents. Reva was a devoted wife and being an entertainer at heart and innately was able to make her husband of 63 years, C.B. joke and laugh at her “antics”. She enjoyed life to its fullest, finding joy in reading hundreds of books, recording hundreds of her favorite movies and in her creative endeavors such as painting, crocheting, and “bedazzled” outfits.
She often stated “how lucky can you get” when adoringly describing her two children and their spouses, daughter, Cheryl “Cheri” Edwards and son-in-law, Butch; her son, Tony Arlis Whitlock of Houston, TX and daughter-in-law, Sharon. She loved her 6 grandchildren Dax Edwards of Nashville , TN , Esti Corcoran (husband Forrest) of Rogers , AR ; Courtney and Britni Whitlock of Houston , TX ; and Chase Whitlock of San Marcos , TX . She was a doting great grandchildren to Colton and Cambell Corcoran,
She had various careers throughout her life including bookkeeper at Dewey Davis’ Western Auto, tap dance studio owner and instructor, homemaker and community volunteer. Reva was a former Siloam Springs Court Banker and secretary of the Siloam Springs Police Department.
She was an encourager to all and prayer warrior for family and friend. Her kind heart supported one and all with great insight and love. She was writing her memoirs for her family “keepsake” and described her adventures throughout life as the “Tomboy Granny”. As a member of First Christian Church, she attended her beloved community Bible studies and sang solos throughout her life. She was a devoted lifetime member of Eastern Star. As an avid horsewoman, Reva was not only a charter member of the Siloam Springs Riding Club but also their first riding club queen. She often sang the National Anthem at the rodeo, loved her Red Hat Society Club, and was often a guest soloist at the Bethel Methodist Church and other organizational meetings in the Siloam community.
A family visitation will be held at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Siloam Springs, AR. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Siloam Springs after the funeral service. Family will receive friends preceding the funeral 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Siloam Springs , AR.
Pallbearers are Frank Tramell, Jim Edwards, Butch Edwards, Dax Edwards, Chase Whitlock, Marty Thompson, Joe Williams, and Alan Jones. Honorary: Marvin Thompson, Ross Stout, Walter Gray, Buzz Chaney, and Tony Tibbs.
