Richard James McVey

Richard James McVey, 64, of Fort Smith, died December 1, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born January 22, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa to William James and Hallie Evelyn Dent McVey. He was retired from the U.S. Army and worked as a Security Guard before full retirement. He was a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline of the home; three daughters, Mary Elliott of Harriman, Utah, Janie Adamson of Utah, and Wanda Fry of Harts Horn, Oklahoma; two sons, Ray McVey of Bonanza, AR and Robert McVey of Omaha, NE; four brothers, Lavern Sinclair of Fort Smith, Donald Sinclair of Glendale, CA., Melvin Sinclair of Washington, and Roger McVey of Earlham, Iowa; twenty-one grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Memorial service will be Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM.
