As a brother and brother in law, there are good memories from the times we would meet Ronnie and Brenda at the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs Ark. One particular time, Patrick gathered up all the chairs downstairs in that beautiful old lobby for all of us to sit in so that we could talk to each other for hours. Ronnie knew all the good places to eat, so we met them there; sometimes when the kids were young and sometimes when they were older. Ronnie was such a good cook; we knew if he recommended a place; it must be fantastic; Brenda won the watermelon contest at the Arlington and we all had so many wonderful memories from those times together. Ronnie was a quiet giant of a man; He and Brenda were the perfect match. We will miss him so much. Just knowing Ronnie was there was a comfort. Gary's main memory  was that Ronnie let him drive his red 1957 two door Chev bel air...big deal at the time! There isn't enough space to write all the memories from childhood; but we will miss you Ronnie.  Gary/Brother

My father in-law was always kind to me. He always made me feel like I was part of the family. I loved when he would tell stories about Michael and his brother's. He had a witty sense of humor and the man could cook. He will truly be missed.

I always thought my father was invincible. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He was the biggest man I ever knew. I always felt safe if was there. If I had a problem he would fix it.

My earliest memory is sitting in a rowboat with him in a little lake by our house.  I remember it because I thought it was something really special sitting there with my dad.

He taught me how to write my name, to ride a bike, and to question authority—even him.

He did nothing else but take care of his family. He worked all his life, at jobs he hated, for us. He spent his free time landscaping the yard, making home repairs, keeping the cars running and cooking us amazing meals.

He and my mom were married for 64 years and knew each other for longer than that. It’s hard to imagine one without the other. They were the perfect match for the other

From the time I used to follow behind him with my toy lawnmower when he mowed the grass or with my plastic tools when he fixed something I admired him so much. He was my hero. I will never live up to the man he was. I love you dad. I never said it enough, but I hope you knew that.

My father was a giant.

Uncle Ronnie was such an important part of my childhood. He and Aunt Brenda were my parents’ best friends when they were first time parents together. I remember one Christmas when Uncle Ronnie and my dad pretended to be Santa on the roof of our grandparents house. How we didn’t realize that is the miracle of childhood. I recall Uncle Ron really selling it when he & dad “suddenly” reappeared in the living room. I recall the time the corner gas station was giving away a bag of ice with purchase of a 6 pack on the 4th of July, and the dads (including Uncle Ronnie) really bonding that day, getting all the ice. I always found Uncle Ronnie’s kindness so comforting, and he had a fantastic wit. He was an amazing father to my cousins, and especially my first best friend, my cousin Michael. I am sorry for his loss. The world was made better by his presence in it.
