

Ruby Maye Potter, 101, of Fort Smith, died July 30, 2010 in Fort Smith. She was born February 3, 1909 in Stark, Kansas to James David and Rhoda Rebecca Bundy Fowler. She moved to Fort Smith in 1942 where she worked as a bookkeeper for Louie’s Men Store – “Louie’s on the Ball are You?” She was also a bookkeeper for the Fort Smith Stock Yards and later founded the first H & R Block in Fort Smith and continued working for H & R Block as Office Manager and Tax Preparer for 35 years, up to the age of 90 years old and retired in 1999.
She is survived by one daughter, Tomya S. Wilson of East Peoria, IL; one son, Gerald L. Potter of Tuscumbia, AL; eight grandchildren, Pamela Gail Potter and Stanley Lee Potter both of Laurel MD., Karen Lyn & husband John Palmer of Gurley, AL., Debra A. Patterson of Madison, AL., George Ken Wilson of Fort Smith, Stephen Wade & wife Tanya Renee Wilson of Fort Smith, Laura Leigh Wilson of Italy, TX., and Teresa Kim & husband Richard McMahon of Cedarville, AR and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, August, 3, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Roselawn Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5-7 PM.
