Shirley Mae Dixon, 89, of Fort Smith, passed from this life September 25, 2017 in Barling, Arkansas. She was born July 16, 1928, in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, to the late Fraser and Hazel Beam Sider. Shirley was an avid bowler, having won multiple awards.
She is survived by her daughter, Lesley Scott and her husband Gifford of Bolton, Ontario, Canada; her son, Jeff Dixon and step-son, Donald Wayne Dixon, both of Fort Smith; a sister, Alice Ott of Port Colbourn, Ontario, Canada; six grandchildren, Brittany Dixon, Hannah Dixon, Stephanie Andreoli, Jessica Hrovat, Brock Dixon and Travis Dixon, as well as five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al Dixon; a son, George Dixon, as well as her brother, Edward Sider.
A memorial service will be at 3:00pm Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with inurnment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
