

She was a faithful member of the Charleston Church of Christ, where she loved the fellowship of her church family. She was a proud mother, beloved grandmother, and adoring great grandmother.
Shirley “MeMa” McDaniel was born in Jefferson City, Missouri on April 23, 1938 to Walter Earl Hayes and Oleta “Tommie” Hayes Redwine.
Shirley grew up in Spiro, Oklahoma where she graduated from Spiro High School in 1956.
She was a mother of two and a former employee of Arkansas Best Freight. After nearly 20 years of service she retired from Arkansas Best Freight as the Administrator of Industrial Relations.
She is survived by her two loving daughters Mona (Meriel) Johnson and Kelly (Larry) Porter; four grandchildren; Joshua (Angela) Gillooley, Ashley (Jeremy) Greenwood, Larry Porter, Jr. and Olivia Porter.
“MeMa” will lovingly be remembered by her five great grandchildren who were her light and joy: Daniel, Ava, Ireland, Lilly, and Zeke.
She is survived by two sisters: Sharon Adams of Leavenworth, Kansas and Linda Tummons of Humble, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her former husband George Thomas McDaniel; Father Walter E. Hayes, Mother Oleta “Tommie” and Stepfather David” Daddy Dave” Redwine and Sister, Marsha Blanchard.
Memorial Graveside Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
