Stephen L. Maestri

Stephen worked in the tile business his entire life. He began his career by starting, M & M Tile Company in Tontitown, AR and then moved to Fort Smith and became a partner at Arkansas Tile & Terrazzo. He later owned and operated Maestri Brothers Tile Company with his sons, Floyd, Larry & John. Stephen always took great pride in his work and passed this trait onto his sons.

Stephen loved to fish and especially traveling to Canada to fish and traveling to attend Dallas Cowboy games. But family was his greatest joy. He loved when his grandchildren came to visit and sit on his lap to share the special times they had together.

Stephen was preceded in death by Dorothy, his loving wife of 68 years, His parents, Albano and Agnes Maestri, his sons, Samuel Maestri & Jim Maestri, his brothers, Floyd, Paul, Frank & Leslie Maestri, his sisters, Genevieve Bean and Lavinia Zulpo and grandson, Justin Johnson.

Stephen is survived by his sons, Floyd(Linda) Maestri, Larry(Debra) Maestri, John(Mercedes) Maestri, David(Misty) Maestri, his daughter Alice Mays and daughter-in-law, Brenda Maestri, all of Fort Smith, Arkansas and his sister, Mary Vaughan.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lori Campbell, Jennifer Bomar, Zak Maestri, Chris Maestri, Tori Foot, Johnna Smothers, Megan Moss, Mallori Solesbee, James Maestri, Lindsey Christie and Jessica Wheeler. His great grandchildren include Deja Bomar, Ethan Bomar, Mason Foot, Madison Foot, John Clay Parker, Kaden Smothers, Paul Ryan Smothers, Jaxson Moss, Parker Moss, Ella Solesbee, Lydia Maestri, Clara Grace Maestri, Luna Christie, Landon Crabtree, Mason Dix, Maddie Dix, Elijah Jameson and Trinity Jameson.

The family would like to thank Stephen’s caregiver, Tammy Belcher, for her support and loving care for the last 4 years.

Visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan 11, 2023 followed by a celebration of Stephen’s life at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. John Anthony presiding. Burial will follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery.
