Warren met his bride-to-be at Chouteau High School. After wowing her with his varsity basketball skills, his Golden Glove championship at Northeastern A & M in Miami, OK, and his good looks, Mary Elizabeth Hofmeister became his forever-bride on December 23, 1955.
Warren proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at bases in San Antonio, TX; Biloxi, MS; and Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City, OK where his daughter Mary Michele was born; and finally Morocco, North Africa. Following his service, Warren and family moved to Tulsa, OK where son Ricky Max was born. The family moved to Fort Smith and Warren began a career in manufacturing of almost 30 years with Norge Corporation and Whirlpool Corporation for whom he served in numerous capacities, the last being Director of Manufacturing.
As an avid tennis player and traveler, Warren’s transition into retirement was an easy one as he happily focused his time on his growing family, more tennis and developing his appreciation of music and good food - he loved food anywhere and all the time!
The Nicodemus family loved their First Baptist Church where Warren was a deacon and enjoyed helping in the Media Ministry broadcasting services on local television. As life would have it, when later he became unable to attend church, he and Mary continued to worship by television.
In addition to Mary, daughter Michele and her husband Dan Myers of Madison, MS; son Rick and his wife Shelly of Witcherville, Warren’s family includes grandson Tyler Nicodemus and his wife Katelin and their sons Parker and Ryker of Fort Smith; his grandson Nicholas of Osage Beach, MO; his grandson Cullen and his wife Rianna and their daughter Laydie of Center Ridge; and finally a granddaughter - his "Sweet Caroline" Nicodemus of Fort Smith.
The family welcomes friends and family to the beautiful Fort Smith National Cemetery where Warren will be buried with military honors on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
