

Albert J. “Al” Blazer, 84, of Fort Wayne passed away on Saturday November 27, 2021. He was born on December 19, 1936. He was a U.S .Army veteran that served two and a half years stationed in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. Al worked as a pressman for the Fort Wayne Box Co. for eight years, and also for the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Dept. for 29 years retiring as lead gardener of Jaenicke Gardens. Al enjoyed gardening, painting portraits of family and friends, and historical Native Americans. Anyone that knew Al knows that he loved to have philosophical debates and rational arguments. He had a big heart, never met a stranger, and would give a helping hand to anyone. We will miss him. He is survived by Jackie Blazer his wife of 57 years; his son, Brian Blazer; stepsons, Greg Brockman and Chris Brockman; and also a nephew and nieces. Al was preceded in passing by his parents, Ernest Blazer and Sarah (Richards) Budd; and two brothers, Ernie and Eugene Blazer. Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
