Amos L. Girod, 70 of Harlan, IN (District 11) passed away Thursday November 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Berne, IN, February 2, 1955, to Leah (Graber) and the late Emanuel Girod. On September 3, 1978, he married Marie F. (Schwartz) Girod. Amos was a carpenter and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving is his wife Marie F. Girod, mother Leah (Graber) Girod, children, Matthew (Leora) Girod, Irene Girod, Leana (Matthew) Schmucker, Barbara Ann (Steven) Schmucker, grandchildren; Jonathon (special friend Janean Brandenberger), Sarah, Michael, Deborah Girod, Bethany (special friend Jason Steury), Lucas, Lynn Schmucker, Dena, Sharon, Jayden Schmucker, siblings; Sam (Ernestine) Girod, Leah (Joe) Schwartz, Emma Byler, Emanuel (Emma) Girod, Ernest (Maryann ) Girod, Lovina (Alvin) Schwartz, Simon (Judy) Girod, Elizabeth (Marvin) Schwartz, Enos (Catherine) Girod, Martha (David) Schmidt, and Saloma (Levi) Wickey. Proceeding Amos in death is his father Emanuel S. Girod and Brother-in-law Andy Byler.

Funeral service was Sunday November 16, 2025, at the Amos and Marie Girod home 22928 Antwerp Road, Harlan, IN with calling all day Friday 14th, Saturday, 15th. Bishop James Schmucker officiated. Burial was in Scipio Old Order Amish Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Walter Schwartz, Jacob Schwartz, MarkAlan Girod, Chris Girod, Samuel Girod, Menno Lengacher.
