Andrew J. Petre

Andrew J. Petre age 89 of Albion, died Thursday at his home. He was born on November 28, 1922, in Hamilton, IN., the son of Fredrick and Elsie (Rogers) Petre. A heavy duty mechanic, he retired from Jim Kelley Buick in 1985 after 35 years of service. Mr. Petre was a WW II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of the VFW Post 2749 in Kendallville and the American Legion Post 246 in Albion. Surviving are 2 Daughters: Anna Kleopper – Albion, Trina (Steve) Kline – Albion, Son, Keith (Darlene) Petre – Fort Wayne, 3 Grandchildren; Glen (Sonya) Hurst, Paula Nicholson & Lynn (Matt) Karn, 6 Great Grandchildren; Britney Ogelsby, Chelsey, Andrew and Tyler Hurst & Morgan and Peyton Karn, 3 Sisters; Ella Mae (Charlie) Brigle – Florida, Juanita (Roland) Cook – Montpelier, Ohio, Mary Alice (Larry) Aschelman – Auburn, Indiana, 1 Brother; Roger (Deb) Petre – Butler, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Irene and 1 grandson; Allen Hurst. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells Street, Ft. Wayne. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. American Legion Post # 246 will hold graveside services.
