Andrew "June" Rivers Jr.

Andrew "June" Rivers Jr., age 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024. He was born September 20, 1938 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Andrew and Odis (née Wims) Rivers. Andrew graduated from Central High School and enlisted shortly afterward in the United States Army - First Airborn 187th Infantry Division, as a parachutist. He was proud of his service to our nation and member of American Legion Post #148.

Following his service, Andrew worked for International Harvester of Fort Wayne and Navistar of Springfield, Ohio prior to his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed carpentry, repurposing anything and everything, barbecuing, gardening, exercising, and playing chess. Andrew was a photography buff and recording home videos. He loved attending the annual Cincinnati Music Festival with his late wife, Beverly; and was a die hard Indianapolis Colts fan.

Andrew is survived by his children, Anthony Rivers, Andrea Bower, Andrew (Teresa) Rivers III; grandchildren, Andrea Collins, Jerome De Los Rios, Jeffrey Jerome, Cody (Breonna) Jerome, Alyssa Rivers, Rochelle Rivers, Veronica Jerome, and Monty Rivers; great-grandchildren, Pixie, Emma, Bentley, Cy'auna, Londyn, Elena, Andrew IV, Cy'marion, Darius, Aasim, Lillionna, AriYah, Cody Jr., Cylen, Aazir, and Elijah; sister, Elizabeth Ferrell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly L. Rivers; siblings, Henry (Betty) Rivers and Mamie (Donald) Ford; and great-grandson, Elijah Rivers.
