Antero (Ted) R Gomez, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away at home peacefully and went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Born January 3, 1938, in Waco, Texas, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mary (Rodriguez) Gomez. He proudly served his country for three years, honorably, as a PFC with the 1st Marine Airwing in the Marine Corps. He retired from Dana as a machinist in March 1996 after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of more than 63 years, Barbara (Baker) Gomez; son, Antero (Ted,) Gomez, Jr., son, Timothy (Paula) Gomez, daughter, Christina (Kurt) Davis, daughter, Lisa Gomez-Osborn. He had 7 grandchildren: Kristen (Corey) Clancy, Tyler Davis, Wesley(Erin) Osborn, Joshua Gomez, Aaron Davis, Wyatt Osborn and Bryce Davis. Three Great grandchildren: Nola, Caellum and Raegan.
He is survived by eight sisters, Nacha Cuellar, Vicky Meier, Juanita McMeeking, Rosie Moeckel, Lupe Murray, Maggie Merchant, Mary Gomez, Carmen Hoffman and two brothers, Joe Gomez and Jesse Gomez, Jr. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Gomez and Cecil Gomez.
Calling will be held from 3:00 to 7:00pm, Monday, January 23, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the funeral home with calling one hour prior. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne.
