Anthony J. Lavka, 89 passed away February 8, 2019 at his home in Fort Wayne, IN surrounded by his loving family just a week short of his 90th birthday. He was born in Franklin, NJ to the late Anton Hlavka and Julia Kermes. Anthony earned his Bachelors from Rutgers University. He served in the US Marine Corp during WWII. Anthony’s career was in sales and marketing in the plastics and polymer industry. He was a devote husband, father and grandfather, loved his family. Tony enjoyed playing golf, tennis and was an avid jogger and walker. Watching football and all sports was his favorite pastime. He is survived by his wife Alice V. Lavka of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters Tracy ( Emery) Kertai of Fort Wayne, IN; Jill ( James) Blondek of Sherborn, MA. granddaughters Linzey (Eric) Brunton, Morgan, Kendall, Miranda Terrill, Mayson Blondek and Faith Kertai, grandsons Justus and Jesse Kertai and great granddaughter Brystol Brunton. Anthony was preceded in death by brothers John and Joseph and sisters Josephine and Ann. A private service was held at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, IN Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
